President Connolly’s Inauguration – 11 November 2025

The State Inauguration of President Catherine Connolly took place in Saint Patrick’s Hall, Dublin Castle, on Tuesday 11 November 2025.

Following the administration of the Oath of Office, the Chief Justice Donal O’Donnell presented President Connolly with the Presential Seal, the Presidential Standard was raised in Dublin Castle, and a 21-Gun Salute was fired from Collins Barracks Dublin.

The 2 Brigade Artillery Regiment under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel Niall Verling, with Regimental Sergeant-Major Jack McNamee, provided the Saluting Battery of six ceremonial Ordnance QF 25-Pounder Field Guns.

Commandant Emmet Gallagher was the Battery Commander with Battery-Sergeant Patrick Clarke.

President Connolly reviewed a Captain’s Tri-service Guard of Honour, under the command of Captain Patrick Wilson, Artillery Corps. Musical honours were rendered by the Army Number 1 Band under the baton of Captain Thomas Kelly. During the rendering of the Presential Salute, an Air Corps Fly-Past was flown by four PC9s in formation.

Thereafter, a Captain’s Escort of Honour drawn from the 2 Cavalry Squadron, under the command of Captain Tadgh Campbell escorted the President back to Áras an Uachtaráin.
