Field Trip to the Glen – Thursday 13 July

The Artillery Corps Concentration takes place from 10 to 13 July, involving 320 gunners approx, fulfilling a number of training and operational requirement for 2017. The Club has received an invitation from the School Commandant Lt Col Mervyn Farrell to attend on Thursday, 13 July.  

Firing Parties: 1 Arty Regt (120mm – Coan), 2 Arty Regt (105mm – Stranahely), Gunners / BTA Course (105mm – Brennan’s Farm)

OP Parties: Fire Support Team (FST) Course Leitrim, Ogham Stone & Keogh’s House.

Timings

  • 1300hrs: RV (Leitrim OP), Brief and Observe Shoot
  • 1315hrs: Light Lunch
  • 1630hrs: Empty Guns: BQMS Godkin, RQMS Whelan, RQMS Wade
  • 1700hrs: Tea and Sandwiches in Coolmoney Camp
  • 1900hrs: Opening of The Brown Hall,
  • 1915hrs: Presentation of Club’s Awards
    • YOs Course: Lt Alex Quigley, 2 Arty Regt,
    • Arty Gun Detachment Comdrs Courses: 2017: Cpl Wiggins 1 Arty Regt, 2016 Cpl O’Donoghue 2 Arty Regt.
  • 2000hrs: BBQ.

Golf Outing Glasson – 24 August 

The Artillery Club’s Annual Golf Outing takes place on Thursday, 24 August 2017 at Glasson Hotel and Golf Club, Killinure Cottage, Glasson, Athlone Co.Westmeath, followed by dinner in The Glasson Hotel at 2000hrs approx.

The Golf Outing and Dinner is open to Members of the Artillery Club, their Spouses, Partners and Friends. Rooms have been reserved in the Glasson Hotel for Members and Guests at attractive prices.

It is requested that Booking Proforma and appropriate payments (golf fees, dinner, accommodation) are sent to Comdt Chris O’Flanagan (Retd) NLT 21 July.  Full details have already been circulated and are on the website

 

Foreign Filed Trip Lisbon 01 – 05 October. Coordinator: Commandant Michael Flood (Retd)

The Committee has received a significant response from 30 members, including guests, for the Foreign Field Trip to the Artillery School in Lisbon from 01 October through 05 October.
