Veterans’ Day 2023 – McKee Barracks, Dublin
Hosted by the Chief of Staff, Lieutenant-General Seán Clancy, this year’s Defence Forces Veterans’ Day ceremony took place on Sunday, 01 October, in McKee Barracks, Dublin,.
To demonstrate solidarity with Óglaigh na hÉireann during these challenging times, retired and serving personnel of the Artillery Corps, including members of The Artillery Club and the 2 Field Artillery Regiment Association, attended the event
Veterans’ Day reaches out to honour retired members of the Defence Forces and the families of Veterans are always welcomed to this event.
The day provided an opportunity for rveterans to reconnect and renew old friendships. The attendance of ONE, IUNVA, ARCO and Unit / Corps Associations, with whom all veterans can identify, enhanced the day.
A representative group from ONET and IUNVA were reviewed by the Minister of State for Defence, Mr. Jack Chambers representing the Minister for Defence Mr Micheál Matin TD.
Following the review, the Minister addressed the parade and other attendees. The ceremony concluded with the laying of wreaths by the Minister of State and representatives of ARCO, ONET, and IUNVA. Thereafter, a reception was held in the Catering Centre.
