Annual Golf Competition and Dinner – 14 August 2024

The Artillery Club’s Annual Golf Outing and Dinner took place on 14 August 2024 at the Athlone Golf Club, County Westmeath. Club members and guests participated in the golf competition and later were joined by non-golfers for an enjoyable dinner in The Hodson Bay Hotel. A total of 15 attended this very successful event.
A total of 14 golfers took part in the single Stableford Competition.
Confined to serving and retired members of the Artillery Club, the Captain Jack Jones Perpetual Trophy, now in its 21st year was won by Colonel Billy Nott (Retd) with a score of 38 points.
In second place with a score of 30 points was Lieutenant Colonel Noel Murphy (Retd), and in third place was Captain Tom Nolan (Retd)with 29 points.
Colonel Eoin Moloney (Retd) won the Visitors Prize with 32 points.
Prior to an excellent dinner in the The Hodson Bay Hotel, the prizes were presented by the Club President, Colonel Pat White.
The Committee acknowledges the organiser and coordinator of this very successful event and the renowned hospitality and excellent support provided by the Athlone Golf and the Hodson Bay Hotel.
We look forward to next year’s outing which will be the twenty-second year of competition for the Captain Jack Jones Perpetual Trophy.
