The Artillery Club’s Annual Golf Outing takes place on Thursday, 24 August 2017 at Glasson Hotel and Golf Club, Killinure Cottage, Glasson, Athlone Co.Westmeath, followed by dinner in The Glasson Hotel at 2000hrs approx.
The Golf Outing and Dinner is open to Members of the Artillery Club, their Spouses, Partners and Friends. Rooms have been reserved in the Glasson Hotel for Members and Guests at attractive prices. It is requested that Booking Proforma and appropriate payments (golf fees, dinner, accommodation) are sent to Comdt Chris O’Flanagan (Retd) NLT 07 July. Competitions
Singles Stableford – Ladies & Gents competitions. Competition for the Capt Jack Jones (RIP) Perpetual Trophy is restricted to Artillery Officers (PDF & RDF) serving and retired. Prizes will include visitors’ prizes. Tees are reserved from 11.30hrs to 12.30hrs. Those who wish to avail of Buggies (€25 each) are requested to reserve buggies directly with the Glasson Golf Club, quoting Artillery Club Golf Outing, telephone number: 090 658 5120.
Handicaps
Artillery Club Members and their Guests, with current official GUI and ILGU Handicaps, will play to their official current handicap on the day. Non members of a GUI or ILGU affiliated club will be allocated a maximum handicap on the day: 18 for Men and 24 for Ladies.
Accommodation & Fees
Rooms have been reserved in the Glasson Hotel for Members and Guests at the following rates:
€135 pps 1 night B&B Thur Night, including golf and dinner,
€185pps 2 nights B&B Wed & Thur Nights (Dinner and Golf on 2nd Day only),
€210 pps 2 nights B&B Thur & Fri Nights (Dinner and Golf on 1st Day only),
(Single supplement €30 per night on top of above rates).
If you intend to stay and avail of these very good rates, payment will be required by Friday 21st July to secure your booking. This is because the Artillery Club is required to pay the hotel a 50% deposit 6 weeks prior to the event to secure the room bookings.
For those members not overnighting, the Fees are:
Golf Only: €50pp (including €10 to prize fund as in 2016),
Dinner Only: €40pp,
Golf & Dinner Only: €90pp.
Hotel Room Cancellation Policy
Individual cancellations should be made 24 hours prior to arrival. Any cancellations after this time will be charged for the first night’s accommodation.
Activities for Non-Golfers. Please advise the Coordinators if a non-playing member of your party, would like to participate in a parallel programme such as a cruise availing of the Viking Ship or River Run Cruiser.
